Decorative Scheme - A Happy Place

 Quindalup “A Happy Place”

This concept is inspired by a very beautiful rug of the same name which was designed from a hands-on cultural exchange craft workshop with Aboriginal youth. The symbolism in the rug design represents family coming together. A fitting story to go with a space to be used to entertain family and friends.

I have purposely wanted to create a calm mood by the choice in colour palate which reflects warm earthy tones and cool greys and blues of the environment. The rug anchors the palate of the apartment and has informed the furniture and accessory selection.

I have tried to balance the industrial original integrity of the space with modern contemporary pieces that I believe will age well. This space will be a sanctuary for Lisa and Max to relax, escape, entertain and build a home of their own. A warm and welcoming ambiance in what was an industrial space.
